Dynamic Earth is a great visitor attraction. It is packed full of exciting things for children (and childish adults!) to do and also has a brilliant cafe, serving a good selection of gluten free food.
I recently went to a good Friday night event at Dynamic Earth, called After Dark. This included shows of the Pink Floyd psychedelic films in the Dome cinema; delicious curries and other food; lots of drink and a great silent disco. During the day it is a bit more sedate here, but the cafe is still good.
The Food Chain Cafe has recently extended its cake range and now offers cookies from the fab Cuckoo’s Bakery. Ranged in jars and including a vegan and a gluten free option, they are as delicious as the rest of the Cuckoo’s produce. There are also Cobb’s bakery items, including gluten free wrapped cakes such as a brownie. Cobb’s is a Drumnadrochit based bakery that specialises in gluten free – and it’s good!
For main courses, there is always a gluten free option of something like chilli or curry, plus there are baked potatoes with a range of fillings. You will not be spoilt for choice here and the cafe team is really good at labelling for dietary issues. Naturally, the menu is child friendly, so it would be a good location for a coeliac child who wants a “normal” day out, like other children.
The coffee is also excellent and they are selling takeaway cups with the first coffee free. Dynamic Earth is worth a visit to the cafe even if you aren’t heading into the whole, brilliant visitor attraction – though you should!
Also good here are the Christmas party nights and the catered food then is also excellent.
